This week has been a week of excitement and the anticipation of the new season – Autumn.
Change is Coming
Every year around this time the same thing happens. I start to sense the light changing; it begins to become warmer and gentler on the eye. The morning air starts to become crisper and there is a soft mist on the fields as the sun rises. Autumn is on the way.
I have always enjoyed this time of year the most. Particularly now, when the sense of change is imminent and exciting. The colours in the trees become more varied and the hedgerows are abundant with fruits.
When I was a child, I used to spend hours watching claymation programmes such as Thomas the Tank, Postman Pat, and most importantly, Wind in the Willows. Living in a Hampshire Farming town, I often walk down the banks of the River Test, hoping to see Ratty rowing in his boat with Mole in tow. This time of year is particularly reminiscent of these old shows for me.
With this time of year comes the anticipation of the festivities around the corner. Starting with family anniversaries and birthdays, Halloween, my birthday in November and then before we know it Christmas and New Year. No other time of the year has as much merriment shoe-horned into it.
As the days grow shorter and the temperature drops, the countryside changes dramatically. I especially love going for long walks in the forest and picking up acorns, pine cones and conkers to bring into the house and use as decor. I take pride in make the house ‘Autumn-friendly,’ with candles, snuggly blankets and home-made soups.
The Future of Crunchy Leaves
Over the next few weeks, I will have some exciting content coming to the blog. I have some fantastic guest posts which I am going to leave as a surprise, and some Autumn themed content to get you in the mood. Starting with my September Goals on Friday.
I am also planning to revive the videos! I’ve always enjoyed filming as well as writing; it allows me to share content with you all which I would find hard to write about. The first video will be going live in the next week so look or for it on here and on my YouTube channel.
I know I keep going on about it, but I literally couldn’t be more thrilled that Autumn is upon us. I have been planning the content for this season for a month now and I can’t wait to share it all with you. This is the season that I thrive upon, the months that inspire me the most and I can feel that inspiration starting to bubble up and boil over! If it had taken any longer to get here I might have burst!
I love hearing from you all through the blog, social media and any other way you can think to get hold of me! I want to hear what you love most about Autumn and what you’re looking forward to over the next few months.
Lots of Love,
