Even though December only started on Saturday, it feels like the Christmas chaos started middle of November this year!
Most years it’s me trying to get everyone to hurry up and get into the festive spirit. This year however I feel like the Coca-Cola Lorry left without me! So many people seemed to have put the tree up before November was finished. Did I miss a memo??
I was thinking about this today and wondering why everyone is so keen to jump on the holiday bandwagon so soon. The only conclusion I can come to is that this year has been such a rollercoaster that everyone just wants to forget about it. If only the festive season was relaxing! Christmas Chaos is an ever growing issue!
Is Chaos Good?
Some of us thrive on stress, working late into the night before a deadline when they had weeks to prepare. Others prepare months in advance. Christmas seems to be no different. I know people who finished prepping for the festivities back in September. I will be running around the weekend before still wondering if I have enough food for everyone! Is this a bad thing? I think so! I enjoy the chaos of running around the supermarkets, listening to Christmas music on repeat and watching people panic buying sprouts.
What is it about this time of year that suddenly makes us all such party animals? I have one week coming up where I am out at events literally every night of the week! I have never been so popular. Chaos continues on like this until the New Year too! No wonder we all feel so exhausted once January comes around and the parties stop!
Whilst all the hubbub of the holiday season might be stressful and exhausting, it’s also important to enjoy it. I know they will be times when I won’t want to get out of my jim-jams, but I will make sure I put the effort in and embrace the chaos!
