Top things to do in Ireland during Halloween

A huge thank you to Vicky for allowing me to guest post on her blog! Today I will be giving you a list of the top things to do during Halloween in Ireland. But first a little about me!

I’m Anne Carty and I can be found at  I am an 18 year old Irish blogger. Writing has always been a huge passion of mine and I launched my blog on May 1st of this year. I write all things travel, mental health, reviews, long distance relationships, education and anything else that I feel that needs to be spoken about.

Halloween in Ireland

1. Night tours of Wicklow’s Historic Gaol

Are you brave enough to visit Ireland’s most haunted building? This Gaol was home to 18th century Irish prisoners who were subject to torture, starvation and death for petty crimes.

Doesn’t this sound like the perfect setting for Halloween night? Walking through a dark gaol that is full of sadness and death on Halloween night. This tour costs €15 to take part and you get a free complimentary glass of wine.

2. Halloween at Lullymore Heritage Park Co. Kildare

This event runs from October 27th to November 2nd from 10am to 6pm. Throughout the week there are activities for children and adults. Children can enjoy both indoor and outdoor play areas throughout the day. This place mixes both terror and fun with haunted holograms, terror train trips, zombie attacks and so much more.

3. Belfast Halloween Monster Mash and Fireworks Display.

This is practically a huge street party. Take part in wicked arts and crafts workshops, watch street theatre and go on fairground rides. At the end of the night sit down and enjoy some time watching the fireworks display. I would love to visit and take part in this Monster Mash street party! It sounds like a really fun idea! Would you like to go to Belfast to take part in this party?

4. Dare to Scare Tour at Wells House Co. Wexford.

Are you up for some family friendly Halloween activities? On October 30th you can visit Wells House from 5:30- 6:15pm. Join the hunter on his mission through the woods to find the werewolf.

5. Derry Halloween Under the Samhain

Take part in the four day Halloween Party. One of Europe’s largest Halloween street carnival and costume party. This party is full of music, sculptures, performances and fireworks! Who doesn’t love the sound of that?!

6. Spirit of Meath Halloween Festival Co. Meath.

Now this is the one I want to visit the most! Have fun by day and get some frights by night. This is the biggest and scariest Halloween festival. Visit the scary farmophobia, walk the haunted hills to eerie graveyards and dare to enter the terror houses.

Don’t these places sound spooktacular? I would love to visit these places during Halloween. I’ll definitely be putting these on my bucket list!

Where is your favourite place to visit during Halloween?
