My week in a Word is a weekly opportunity for me to reflect on what has happened in the past seven days. For those of you who like the idea of writing a journal, I find it an easier way to do this and of course it’s very mindful. I publish this post every Monday.
It’s been a bit of a strange week for me. I have had a real mixture of feelings about my blog and how I see it developing in the future. Content has been in the forefront of my mind and I have been wondering about how I can develop it further.
Sometimes being creative can be quite confusing. I get a million ideas and then don’t know how to fit them into my niche. I want to do it all but then when I sit down and think about it with my practical head on the ideas don’t seem to make sense.
What are my Skills?
I decided to go back to basics and think about what I want from my blog. I always vowed I didn’t want to be a blogger who blogged about blogging. It’s so easy to default to this niche, especially when the vast majority of your readers are probably bloggers themselves. I love reading other peoples content about blogging but that isn’t for me. Having always been passionate about mindfulness and how we can incorporate it into our current lifestyles. I want to write about it as much for myself as the lovely people who come to read my content.
The first thing my blog buddy will tell you is that I LOVE ORGANISATION! I recently featured a new planner in one of my vlogs (see below) which has actually become quite a mindful exercise for me. I also read a fantastic blog post around the same time which led me to some amazing affiliate websites (which I will be featuring in future content).
Another skill I pride myself in having, is the ability to coach people. Since starting my career and becoming a leader and a manager, I have honed this skill and have enjoyed helping people to further themselves in both their personal and professional lives.
Content with the new Content?!
SO! After a little bit of soul searching and getting back to basics. I think i have some exciting new plans for the future of the blog and the content you will be finding on here. I hope you enjoy it. All will become clearer as the next few weeks progress and I can make more detailed announcements.
Sometimes we get so stuck in our ways, we need to take things right back to the beginning to work out how to move forward again.
Credit where is it due…
I do have to say at this point I wouldn’t have been where I am now without the friendship and support of my dear blog buddy Lee. She and I have been friends for a little while, working on a small project you might have heard me talk about called the Blog Buddy Program. We have been working so hard to give and find support for other bloggers, that for a while we forgot to support each other (I’m sure she will agree with that!). So in the past few weeks we have been trying to help each other out a bit. By bouncing ideas off of each other we have been able to find our way forward together in creating top quality content for you all to enjoy!
