As some of you may know I recently had my bag stolen. Whilst it was a horrible experience, it gave me the opportunity to reflect on just how much I carry around with me on a day to day basis. So I have started again, rebuilding my portable office and life. This is now what I carry around with me.
1. My Bag
Of course I wouldn’t be able to carry anything around without a bag. I have recently taken to rucksacks as they enable me to have both hands free to video, take photos and generally look after my back a bit more. I got this one from here.
Not only does this make my bag stand out from others in a crowd, there is something satisfying and calming about holding it and stroking the fur when I am particularly stressed out. Also, because it’s sooo massive, I can reach it without taking my bag off my back. I got it here.
Obviously I have to carry a purse around. It has a lot less store-cards than it used to because they all were in my old, stolen purse. I am slowly building that collection up again, don’t worry! I got this purse here (not exactly the same but similar).
Surely everyone has a smart phone now?! This is my life, my organiser, my bank and my social platform! I don’t think I need to say much more.
This one is particularly old but it’s been very faithful to me through some seriously bad rain! this one is a Cath Kidston which isn’t available but they have some lovely new ones here.
6. A Notebook and Pencil
As someone who is always looking around her for inspiration, a notebook to hand is a must. I like to use a mixture of ruled, plain, squares and dotted (because I’m a little obsessed with notebooks!) but this one in particular is dotted. I got it here.
As some of you may know, I record all my vlogs and take all my photos from my phone (with such good quality, why pay for another camera?). This tripod is particularly good because it folds up small and fits into my bag, and comes with a remote so I can start filming or take photos without the ugly arm shot! I got this here.
I like to listen to podcasts and music when out and about, and obviously don’t want to disturb the peace so these are a must.
9. Lens kit and Microphone
As I said above, I use my phone a lot. When out recording, it can be difficult to hear me above the background noise. I have a fab little microphone to combat that which I got here. I also like to take a range of different photo’s, so I really enjoy this little adaptor kit which I got here.
10. Beauty kit
Not as full as before, but I got this lovely little case to keep everything in. I have three (yes three!) lip balms, some hand cream, body butter, a mirror, hand gel and of course an emergency tampon.
So that’s my little stash. Let me know what you think. Do you keep anything else in your bag? Let me know in the comments below.
